BONSAII SHREDDER IN THE BREAKROOM

Instructions and diagrams are on the wall near the machine in a plastic sleeve. Please consult that before

operating the shredder.

LUBRICANT SHEETS

To use a sheet, just treat it as you would a sheet of paper.

After it has run completely through the machine, set the shredder into reverse by touching the "Up" arrow to the left side of the On/off button in the center. Let it run for ten seconds.

You don't tear open or cut the sheets, just put them in the machine to be shredded.

Use lubricant sheets on a regular basis. (We order a 12 pack from Amazon.)

The manufacturer recommends that we use them at least twice a month or after doing a lot of shredding.

Failure to do that will result in a shortened life for the machine.

It’s a lot cheaper and easier to use the sheets than not as we end up having

to buy a new shredding machine and they are not inexpensive.

It’s a great idea to write the date that you use a sheet on the side of the Lubricant Sheet packet.

That way you don’t go six months without using one.

Please take into account that if you do a lot of shredding that you need to use the sheets

more often.

Occasionally, the machine may clog.  Be sure to turn off the machine, unplugging it and

check to see if the gears are clogged. Clean them and then use a sheet.

If it’s still not working properly, check the sides of the gears as they can accumulate tiny

pieces of paper and paper dush. Clean out behind the gears with a pen or pencil and, again,

use a sheet in the right or left corner of the opening.

While it would be wonderful if we had bags that fit inside the hopper, the shredding machine company has carefully designed their machine so that only the one that they design, manufacture and sell at a hefty price will work. Any others will get holes poked in them, so don't even try. A broom and dust pan are kept nearby for a reason.

The ideal is that you would empty the shred into a paper bag and then have it placed in the recycling bin in the parking lot across the street. We try to keep some on hand, but if we don't have any, we will use a plastic one

There is a smaller opening on the top of the machine above the one for paper for credit card shredding. We haven't had a need for it. There is a little hopper for it and it is stored with the lubricant sheets.
