Gmail and Google Drive share saved space making it pretty easy to run out of space quickly.
If you sign in to your gmail or into the google drive and receive a message that lets you know you are running out of space, submit an IT ticket and let them know.
They will transfer ownership of your Drive files to the administrative account freeing up space for you in your Google account. You will retain all of your edit access to your files.
