NAME OF POSITION: Hiring Manager

PERSON’S SENIOR: Director of Human Resources

PURPOSE (The reason why the position exists):  To ensure all new employees are ready to learn, work hard, be a well fitting part of the company and that they are naturally geared or predisposed toward the job and department they will be working in.

VIEWPOINT (The viewpoint that an employee should have, to be successful at the job): A company is it’s people, more than the product, goals, clients, or building. A company is a group of people going toward a goal. It is therefore of vital importance that the company only have members that will add to the motion and group, not distract, work against, or only stand to make the group larger. Each employee must be willing to take orders well, be able to make things go right where things would otherwise go wrong, must have a personality that does well to balance the groups they will be a part of, and most importantly be ready to work hard in ways that are constantly improving even though they might be able to get along with coasting. A good way to do this is to ensure the employee wants to take full responsibility for a specific aspect (deciding that they will be the one to make sure a purpose is achieved, regardless of what else may happen) Any newly hired employee must also be willing to do any job that might fall on them. No employee should be “sold” into a job, regardless of anything, the employee will have to face the reality of the job, so the grim reality of the job is what should be communicated.

I would rather you scare someone away from a job then have them start and realize what they have gotten themselves into.
