If have a desk phone, it displays caller information to help you identify how the caller was routed to your number (for example, direct number, company number, or call queue). This article lists a few common scenarios and what's displayed in the inbound call notification.
Direct phone number
If the caller dialed your direct phone number, most phone models display your name in the call notification. The call notification also displays or highlights the direct phone number that the caller dialed. Some Yealink models will not display your name.
Company number, auto receptionist, or IVR
If the caller dialed the company number and your extension number, most phone models display your name in the call notification. This also applies if the call was routed through an auto receptionist or interactive voice response (IVR) system.
Some Yealink models will not display your name.
Note: The call notification does not display the company number or auto receptionist's number. It displays or highlights your direct number. If you have multiple direct numbers, it displays or highlights your primary number specified in your Line Keys setting. If you don't have direct numbers, the call notification displays the primary line label (usually your name).
Call queue
If the caller directly dialed a call queue, most phone models display the call queue name.
Note: The call notification does not display the call queue's number. It displays or highlights your direct number. If you have multiple direct numbers, it displays or highlights your primary number specified in your line key settings.
You will not receive call notifications from call queues if you're currently on a call or disabled calls from call queues.
Internal contact
If the call was from another Zoom Phone user in the same organization, the call notification displays the caller's Zoom profile name and extension number. If the caller dialed your direct number, the call notification displays or highlights the number they dialed.
Note: If they dialed your extension, the call notification displays or highlights your direct number. If you have multiple direct phone numbers, it displays or highlights your primary number specified in your Line Keys setting.
