Update Firefox to the latest release
By default, Firefox updates automatically. You can always check for updates at any time, in which case an update is downloaded, but it is not installed until you restart Firefox.
Update Firefox
- Click the menu button, , click Help and select About Firefox.
- The About Mozilla Firefox window opens. Firefox will check for updates and, if an update is available, it will be downloaded automatically by default.
- When the download is complete, click Restart to update Firefox.
- Important: If the update did not start, did not complete or there was some other problem, go to the Systems & Languages page to download and install the latest version of Firefox for your system and language. You can also use this download page (see How to install Firefox on Windows for more information).
- Stay safe: Download only from the official Mozilla links above to avoid malware and other online threats.
Note: Update settings can be changed in Firefox Settings . Click the menu button and select Settings. In the General panel, go to the Firefox Updates section.
