So if a family is in their house and they want to keep it, the most important thing is we get them to pay. any money they pay prior to us hiring a lawyer is good. If they make a payment that is equal to a full payment amount then they can put off any eviction actions for 20 days.
Basically, someone who is trying to keep the house, if they're paying us, we can give them some leniency. but not a lot. So find a lawyer, let the family know we got the lawyer. the second they stop catching up, we'll get the lawyer to start catching up.
but if a family ever says "we're going to make a payment" and its over thier monthly due balance, take that payment. That is our goal, to take the payment.
